Today we are discussing the Julep “Length Matters” Buildable Lengthening Mascara (someday I’ll learn to spell “lengthening” without peeking at the packaging). This is a strong contender for new favorite defining mascara. Here are my impressions:
- Love, love, LOVE this microbrush, which gently grabs the lash and separates
- Paraben free and cruelty free, which is always a plus, and gives a fresh option to the clients who prioritize these qualities
- Conditioning, fortifying, and with long hold
Watch the video and you’ll hear the story of how I fell in love with this kind of microbrush. I love the way it holds the individual lash and gives it structure and definition, and doesn’t allow the lashes to clump or crisscross.
A crisscrossed lash, you ask? Why, yes! My own lashes crisscross, so I really appreciate a mascara wand that takes out the combing work for me. Don’t you want to do less work when applying your makeup? I do, and now I have the help of this handy mascara wand.
The brush is nice and thin so I could reach and coat every lash, thus great for reaching both upper and lower lashes. The formula dries quickly and it builds up your lashes with repeated coats. The mascara lasts all day, no smudges and comes off very easily with some remover or cleansing oil.
If you want a more defined and separated, lash, this mascara is for you. If you are going for a volumized, “Real Housewives” makeup look, this isn’t the mascara for that moment. This brush provides awesome length and doesn’t clump (unlike fighting Real Housewives at a cocktail party).
