Spring arrived early in 2018, thanks to the lush wedding of our client Hilary and her husband, Joe.
Sure, it the temperature was in the low 50’s, and we were bundled against the bracing wind. Sure, you had to squint to see buds on the trees in Central Park, but they were there (in theory). Nevertheless, Hilary, Joe, and their planner Dominique Bell brought the warmth and fun of spring in NY to that mid-March day.
Hilary loves makeup, which excited me, so we played with warm shimmer on her eyelids, contour and plenty of highlight on the cheeks, and lashes enough to enhance her look while still keeping it light.
Similarly, she wanted to play up her long hair, which is in itself a great accessory. She likes to tuck and untuck her front pieces behind her ear, so of course we made her style easy and touchable.
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention her Oscar gown with the flower applique jacket. The clean lines and lush satin of the gown needed no enhancement from ruffles or sparkle. The jacket helped change the look slightly for the pictures and ceremony, and added another nod of springtime.
Her family and friends were so lovely, and it was a pleasure to watch all of the beautifully dressed guests swirl into the synagogue for a sparkly, elegant, early-spring ceremony.
Happy anniversary to Hilary and Joe, and thank you for including SB Beauty in your wedding!
