Happy Mother’s Day 2019

Mothering might be the toughest job in the world. Glamorous mother/daughter pictures from beautifully styled weddings bely the years spent laboring in childbirth, dirty diapers, screaming toddlers, angry teens, expensive college, and finally, wedding planning.

It’s not a job for everyone (certainly not for this otherwise intrepid makeup artist), so I offer my sincerest Happy Mother’s Day wishes to all of those beautiful souls who take on the job.

Just like each bride has her own look, each mom is an individual and deserves a look designed around her taste, gown, level of occasion, and most importantly, comfort.

Lastly, Happy Mother’s Day to Gail Becker, AKA the Dowager Countess of Sycamore. She continues to put up with our shenanigans and still slays with zingers. Here she is on her wedding day in 1960. Happy Mother’s Day, all!
