Oxblood is one of the hottest color trends of Fall 2012 because it is so wearable. The rich color automatically triggers thoughts of autumn leaves and hot toddies (or is that me?). There are simple ways to incorporate it into your beauty routine and wardrobe without looking like a trend slave.
Here are a few ideas (clockwise from top left):
-Nails! Julep is a new brand of toxin-free nail polish, and Keira is the shade you want to try for the oxblood look.
-Power lipstick: Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Volga (oh, the drama!). Keep the rest of your face simple with great skin, groomed brows, and tons of black mascara.
-YSL Glossy Stain in Brun Glasse: normally I don’t advocate spending big money on color, but this lip gloss is gorgeous, flattering, and will make you feel fab when you pull it out of your purse to apply. Sounds like a party to me!

-Makeup Forever Aqua Liner in Diamond Burgundy: slide on your upper lid, over a neutral shadow. Low maintenance, long-wearing, and gives any eye color a pop.
I’ve personally enjoyed oxblood for many years – here’s a goofy pic of me wearing my oxblood leather “denim” jacket in front of the Coliseum during my Roman holiday a few years ago.
